My Background and Approach
I take a down-to-earth, collaborative approach to therapy, using humor when appropriate and always meeting you where you are. My work is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness, and EMDR—each offering powerful tools for change. CBT helps reframe unhelpful thoughts that fuel anxiety, depression, or frustration. IFS explores the different parts of you—like the overachiever, the worrier, or the self-critic—so you can understand and heal internal conflicts. Mindfulness brings calm and clarity, helping you respond rather than react. EMDR supports deep healing from past trauma, so it no longer holds you back. Therapy is like working with a physical therapist—you’ll get hands-on tools to use between sessions for real, lasting progress. I bring both clinical expertise and lived experience navigating anxiety and trauma resolution. On a personal note, I’m married with three kids, including teens—so I get it!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone has the capacity for change and growth—even those who seem to have it all together. Sometimes, parts of us stay stuck in unhelpful patterns because they once helped us survive. These thoughts, behaviors, or emotions may have protected us in the past, but now they hold us back. Through therapy, we can heal these parts so they no longer control us, allowing us to move forward with more ease and clarity. I have extensive experience helping people create real behavior change, including leading a Changing Behavior Through Choice program. I know that with the right tools and support, we can all learn new ways of thinking and being that truly serve us. Through my own therapy, I’ve learned how to manage anxiety and heal past trauma, and I want the same freedom for you. I am LGBTQ+ affirming and committed to providing a safe, welcoming space for individuals of all backgrounds, identities, and beliefs.
