About My Clients
I help young people (ages 6-30) understand their strengths and challenges, discover healthy ways to manage fears and frustration, and accept support. Many lack important skills to manage demands of school, relationships, and life events, leaving them "stuck" in patterns of avoidance and resistance that can be confusing to others. Through our work and collaboration with families and other care providers, my patients often report improved self-esteem, self-awareness, and social interactions.
My Background and Approach
I received a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree from the PGSP-Stanford Consortium, completed postdoctoral training at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School, and have been licensed as a psychologist since 2010. Since that time, I've provided psychotherapy, clinical assessment, and consultation for children, adolescents, and young adults in a variety of outpatient clinic and hospital settings. I have extensive training in various forms of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Exposure/Response Prevention, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I also provide Structural/Strategic family therapy, parenting consultation, and parent-based therapy using SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions). I use these techniques to give my patients and their families the tools they need to feel more secure, successful, and well-supported in daily life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As I believe a strong and supportive therapeutic relationship is crucial to successful therapy, I strive to connect authentically with my patients and their families. I have both professional and lived experience with neurodiversity, and my approach encourages acceptance, awareness, and support of a person's unique learning and thinking styles.
