My Background and Approach
I have over twelve years working with children, youth, families, and adults. After graduating from PSU with my Masters in Social Work, I spent several years as a therapist and social worker in schools. I have also worked in healthcare settings as a social worker, therapist, and supervisor. I am a certified trainer in Paloma Medina's Neurology of Equity and Inclusion for Systemic Change as well as hold an Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy certification. I am truly a social worker at heart and serve my clients with many lenses. I use an attachment lens, systems theory, racial theory, queer theory, fat positive lens, a strengths-based lens, a whole person approach, and anti-racist trauma informed framework. I believe that our relationship and shared experiences can be a foundation to work through your challenges. Read more on my website!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that you are the writer of your own story and can create the life you want by re-writing and editing your narrative. We can do this using many modalities from visualization/mindfulness to CBT to Somatic work to psychoeducation. I truly feel honored to be any part of someone’s journey. The way I see my support for you is walking alongside you highlighting your successes and supporting you during challenging moments, when indicated. I believe anyone can heal and anyone can change. I am a person who has experienced a trauma in childhood, struggled with attachment challenges, suffered great loss, and walked my own complicated gender/queer journey. I believe all of these experiences inform my practice and how I can show up for you. As a white provider, I am committed to anti-oppressive practice and bring a systems trauma lens into our work. This will be ongoing work for me that I am deeply committed to. Read my website for more!
