About My Clients
While I work with most populations, I've found a particular niche in men's mental health as someone they can identify with. I seek to help remove the negative stigma of mental health and emotions that many have been trained to bury. I work a lot with people struggling with ADHD as someone who's been on that journey. As a follower of Christ, I'm not shy about addressing spirituality and faith. Whether they're fellow believers or with those with different beliefs, it's a part of who you are.
My Background and Approach
I grew up in North Idaho and bring all my life experience into my sessions. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from University of Idaho and a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Colorado Christian University. I've worked as a counselor since my internship years in grad school and became nationally certified and licensed in 2022. I've worked with a variety of clients from all walks of life in a community mental health setting and private practice. After working for a few practices in Spokane, Coeur d'Alene, and Post Falls, I struck out on my own and opened my own practice at the end of 2024. I invite and encourage questions about my background to any prospective clients as a way of deciding if I'm the therapist for you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a Christian, I bring my values of integrity and compassion for my community. As I trained as a therapist, I saw how my compassion and empathy could grow into professional skills that could be used in sitting with people in their time of need. I want to stress that in teh counseling office, it's not my values that matter most. Through my faith, I've adopted a more holistic therapeutic mindset, seeing people as being body, mind, and soul by addressing their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
