About My Clients
I work with people who have experienced anxiety & depression, trauma, grief & loss, low self-esteem, life transitions, spiritual/existential questions, isolation & loneliness, communication problems, and relationship issues. I believe that through compassion and acceptance, together we can move through the difficulties that life brings.
My Background and Approach
I studied mindfulness-based transpersonal counseling at Naropa University. I use a blend of transpersonal, person-centered, cognitive, and somatic (body-centered) techniques to promote self-exploration, awareness, healing, and self-regulation. I pay special attention to old wounding and related patterns that affect your life and can create cycles of dissatisfaction in body, heart, mind, and spirit. I enjoy leading my clients through inner child work, parts work, and empty chair work, as well as how to work in the here-and-now; I believe that everything we desire to work on exists in the present moment. I am trained in Gestalt therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT, specifically CBT+, which includes TF-CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and mindfulness. My work with couples / intimate partners is informed by the Gottman Method, in addition to attachment theory.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
When working with you, my goal is to cultivate a therapeutic relationship that allows you to feel safe and accepted while you explore and grow because I believe that so much healing can happen in changing relational patterns with even one person. I am part of the LGBTQIA+ community, a cat foster mom, and am learning more about racial and systemic oppression all the time.
