About My Clients
My ideal client is willing to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences in a safe, non-judgmental space. They may be navigating challenges such as trauma, religious or spiritual wounds, identity struggles, relationship concerns, or life transitions. Whether wrestling with deep questions of faith, seeking healing from past hurts, or needing a confidential place to process life’s complexities, they desire compassion, affirmation, and support.
My Background and Approach
My background combines both clinical training and a deep understanding of human spirituality, identity, and resilience. I hold a Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University, a Master of Divinity from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, and a Graduate Certificate in Conflict Management and Negotiation. Additionally, I have extensive experience in spiritual direction, having earned a Certificate in Spiritual Direction from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary at Lenoir-Rhyne University. Throughout my career, I have worked in diverse settings, including hospitals, cancer centers, nursing homes, churches, and colleges, offering support to individuals facing life’s most profound challenges. I have also worked internationally with English language learners, including the Shipibo people of the Amazon and Buddhist monks in Thailand. These experiences have shaped my ability to engage with people from all backgrounds with deep respect and understanding.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
At my core, I believe in the power of authenticity, healing, and radical acceptance. My work is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves a space where they are fully seen, heard, and valued—especially those who have been marginalized or have felt unseen in traditional spaces. As an advocate for LGBTQIA+ individuals and those who have experienced religious trauma or church hurt, I am deeply committed to creating a therapeutic space that is inclusive, affirming, and safe. I know the harm that exclusionary religious environments can cause, and I am passionate about helping clients reclaim their spirituality (if they choose) in a way that aligns with their values and truth. Social justice is central to my work, and I actively support organizations and movements that promote equality, human rights, and mental health awareness.
