About My Clients
I believe therapists are the keepers of hope and the navigators of difficult journeys. We walk alongside our clients as they move through challenging moments and changes in their lives. I have witnessed people become stuck and unsure how to navigate these moments. Some of those challenges include traumatic events, relationship and social identity, career and educational transitions, phase of life changes, and immigration and acculturative stress.
My Background and Approach
I have been working with diverse populations for 15 years, helping individuals and families navigate challenges in their lives. As a culturally responsive and trauma-informed therapist, I will work alongside you, harnessing your strengths and resilience. My goal is to help you find solutions to the challenges you are facing in your life and to help you develop the skills to tackle those challenges head on. I have worked with many different types of issues and have seen and heard it all! My client is my focus. You are in charge of the counseling process, and in charge of identifying what you’d like to address and resolve. I am here for you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that people should be able to live life as their authentic selves. They should feel safe expressing themselves in ways that feel true to who they are and how they want to live their life. I, myself, have navigated difficult life transitions, identity changes and evolutions, and have found that having a robust support system is critical. It is invaluable to have people in your corner who believe and stand for what is important to you. It is important to have people in your life who have life experience and can contribute to your growth. As a member of the queer community, I know very well the challenges people face in navigating a mononormative and heteronormative society. I have also assisted individuals who have struggled with religious trauma and oppression resulting from purity cultures. I believe strongly in being a source of support and encouragement for folks who are navigating intersecting identities and need someone who can hold their hand on that journey.
